The Blue Green Crisis
In years past, blue-green algae usually enveloped Taihu Lake on the border of Zhejiang and Jiangsu province in July or August. But its advance has come earlier and earlier; May in 2007 and this past April. This year it triggered a water supply crisis in Wuxi City, Jiangsu province, eastern China.
