About the Speaker

Dr. Jinliang Li is advisory faculty director of the Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree Executive MBA Program (TIEMBA). He has taught various finance and risk management courses to TIEMBA, the Tsinghua-MIT cobranded MBA program, Tsinghua Executive MBA program, Tsinghua-Chinese University of Hong Kong MBA in Finance Program, HKUST-NYU Stern Master of Science in Global Finance Program, and Stanford MBA. He lectures to executives of organizations such as State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Securities Regulatory Commission, Citi Group and American Express. His is a research consultant to the People’s Bank of China. His research focuses on risk management, corporate governance, and financial markets. In this area, he has published prolifically in academic journals such as Journal of Business, Journal of Futures Markets, Financial Analysts Journal, and Economics Letters. A CFA charterholder, Jinliang sits on the Standards of Practice Council of CFA Institute, and the editorial board of Financial Analysts Journal. He was an associate editor and guest editor of Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance & Business Ventures. Prior to joining Tsinghua, Jinliang was an academic advisor to State Street Bank for one year, where he consulted on liquidity and credit risks in fixed-income securities. He taught at Northeastern University in Boston, where he was named the Joseph G. Reisman Research Professor. He also taught at Syracuse University. His visiting experiences include INSEAD, MIT, Yokohama National University, and Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Jinliang received a Ph.D. in finance and the Doctoral Prize from Syracuse University in 2001. He graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor degree in management information system in 1997.
