Testing Time in Daxinganling Forest Region
Daxinganling, the largest state-owned forest region and approximately the size of Austria, is located in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province. Timber harvesting has long been the only economic activity in the region, but local goverments are pushing for diversifications in recent years, though with less-than-stellar results.
