An explosion at a government office in a southern Chinese town has killed three people and injured fourteen others, China's state news agency reported Thursday. A local Yunnan newspaper reported that the bomb was detonated by a woman unhappy with a governmment order to move out of her home.
The microblog of the newspaper, which is based in Kunming, the Yunnan capital, cited a witness saying that a woman had gone to the government's demolition bureau with explosives after she was asked to sign an agreement on moving to a new home.
The attack took place in Baihetan Town (白鹤滩), in Qiaojia County. It comes almost exactly a year after a 52-year-old man killed three people, inlcuding himself, in Jiangxi province, in explosions that targeted three government offices and were also related to a dispute over compensation for repossessed land.
