With the world’s highest carbon emissions and a number of other environmental problems, China has realized it needs to become greener. Given the construction boom that sees 21 billion square feet of new buildings go up each year, more efficient buildings have been set as a key focus in China's 12^th Five-Year Plan for reducing emissions.

In today’s podcast we talk with Mark Harrison, Beijing office manager of the Atkins architectural and engineering firm. Atkins is one of the companies trying to capitalize on this green drive by bringing building expertise and technology from Britain.
