Bo Xilai to Face Corruption Charges in Ji'nan

Prosecutors in Ji'nan have accused the former Communist Party chief of Chongqing of accepting bribes, corruption and abuse of power and have passed his case to a local court, according to a report published by Xinhua News Agency at 10am on Thursday, July 25.

The Ji'nan Municipal People's Procuratorate in Shandong Province today passed the case to Ji'nan City Intermediate People's Court.

According to the indictment filed by the the Ji'nan Municipal People's Procuratorate, Bo Xilai, in his role as a public official, used his position to advance the interests of others. The former top-ranking Communist Party official is also accused of accepting huge bribes from others and embezzling a large amount of public funds. The charges also state that Bo abused his position and that this resulted in heavy losses for both the state and the people.
