Central Government to Spend 50 billion Yuan on Pre-School Education

Over the next three years, China plans to add more an additional five million places for children at 90,000 new or expanded kindergartens.
 
The Ministry of Education also said that they will introduce new regulations covering both the management and amount of tuition fees charged at both public and private kindergartens before the end of the year.

According to Ministry of Education, over the coming five years, the central government will also put aside 50 billion yuan in funds to support the the development of pre-school education in rural areas of western and central China and in some less-developed eastern regions.

This is the first time that the central government has set up a special fund to support pre-school education in China.

Officials from Ministry of Education also said that central government funds will be used to support the development of pre-school education facilities in cities so as to help the children of migrant workers attend pre-school.
