1. Central Huijin Buoys China's Banks
Xinhua News Agency announced just after the close of the day's trading on China's domestic markets, that Central Huijin Investment Ltd. (Central Huijin), an investment company directly under the control of China's State Council, had began purchasing the stocks of China's "big 4" commercial banks - The Industrial And Commercial Bank Of China (ICBC), Agriculture Bank of China (ABC), Bank of China (BOC) and China Construction Bank (CCB) and intended to continue purchasing shares in these banks. Although mainland markets had already closed by the time the Xinhua story hit the wires, the Hong Kong bourse was still open and stocks in the 4 banks shot up on the news. This intervention by Central Huijin, which already owns large stakes in all 4 of the banks, is an indication that the state is once again stepping in to prop up the share price of the big banks, which have already fallen by around 30% over the course of this year.
2. Head of Anshan Iron and Steel Becomes Chairman of World Steel Association
The president of Anshan Iron and Steel, China's seventh largest steel producer, is soon to become chairman of the World Steel Association. Zhang Xiaogang will be appointed head of the industry group that represents the interests of 170 steel makers at the end of its annual meeting later this week and will hold the position for one year.
3. Huawei Involved in the Corruption of Former CEO of China Mobile's Chongqing Branch
On Oct 10, the trial of Shen Changfu (沈长富), the former CEO of China Mobile in Chongqing, on corruption charges began in Chongqing's No. 5 Intermediate People's Court. Together with his sons, Shen Juncheng (沈俊成) and Shen Li (沈力), Shen Changfu is accused of accepting up to 36 million yuan in bribes from various companies.
According to court documents, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, is said to have paid Shen Juncheng more than 1.3 million yuan as a "salary" for a non-existent position he held at the company from Jan 2004. The payments continued even after Shen officially left the company.

2011年10月5日，导致13名中国籍船员丧生的泰国湄公河金三角水域武装劫持事件调查有了新的进展。
泰国军方在被劫持的船上发现56万粒冰毒。泰国媒体猜测，船只可能遭到毒贩劫持，被用以走私毒品。据泰国《曼谷邮报》10日报道，泰国军方称，一伙由缅甸毒枭Nor Kham指挥的贩毒集团被认为是在湄公河枪杀中国船员的幕后黑手。
这伙毒贩劫持往来于湄公河上的船只，并索取保护费，如果遭到拒绝，他们就杀死船员，利用劫持的船只从缅甸向泰国境内贩运毒品。该贩毒团伙约有400名武装成员。
缅甸少数民族武装佤邦联合军今天公开声明,表示与事件无关。佤邦建议中国政府组成以中国警方为主的调查团进入肇事现场,对现场展开深入调查,并要求对当天在该水域执勤的所有泰警要接受中国警方调查团的调查。佤邦方面愿意接受中国调查团的调查。只要中国和泰国怀疑佤邦的某一个人,佤邦都愿意配合接受调查。

2、外籍货轮撞翻中国渔船后逃逸 4人死亡5人获救
9日22时15分山东省海上搜救中心接报，约21时50分一艘渔船在烟台北偏西48海里处被不明船舶碰撞后翻扣海面，肇事船逃逸。经相关部门和专业力量抢救，在翻扣渔船船舱内成功救出4名幸存人员，并找到4名船员遗体。
山东海事局通过AIS(船舶自动识别系统)轨迹回放等科技手段，初步确定肇事嫌疑船为外籍船舶“ACHILLIES”轮，山东海事局责令其在烟台海域抛锚，接受海事调查。
肇事嫌疑船“ACHILLIES”轮，为马绍尔群岛籍，船长216米，载重7.6万多吨。
3、NBA取消新赛季常规赛前两周的比赛
北京时间10月11日，劳资双方在纽约经过一轮长达7小时的谈判，仍无疾而终。据在纽约劳资谈判现场的CBS记者肯-伯格推特最新消息，NBA总裁大卫-斯特恩宣布，取消新赛季常规赛前两周的比赛。
“很遗憾的告诉大家，我们将取消常规赛前两周的比赛，”斯特恩说，“我们在很多方面的分歧依然非常大。我们的谈判取得了一些成果，但我们面前仍然有一条海湾。”
斯特恩说，劳资双方都做出了让步，但依然无法达成协议。“我们都尽了最大努力，做出了一个又一个的让步，”斯特恩说，“我为我们的老板骄傲，他们证明了他们也很努力。”
4、1700万游轮试水当天沉没
总投资1700余万元的游轮，试水当天沉没。这个听起来像是一个笑话的新闻，就发生在黄河兰州市什川段。
有网友在微博称 “‘酒钢号’豪华游船在皋兰县什川镇黄河岸边试水时在水中倾覆”，并配发了一组照片，引起网友围观。昨日下午，兰州市交通局回应称问题已经解决，“酒钢号”已被拖上岸，没有人员伤亡，搁浅原因主要是施工单位的操作失误，“酒钢号”将于一个月后再次下水试航，而酒钢集团回应称不知情。
此前中广网消息称，“酒钢号”游船是兰州市列重点项目，总投资1700多万元，由酒钢集团全额投资，兰州市交通运输局负责建造船。建成后将是兰州市最大、最豪华的游船，船舶总长32.4米，最大航速22公里/小时，载客量可达80人。
5、温州银监局否认向央行申请600亿元救急贷款
随着温州民间借贷危机升级，关于“温州有89%的家庭或个人参与民间借贷市场”、“温州政府求贷600亿稳定金融”等传言甚嚣尘上。
不过，温州银监局局长张有荣昨天接受媒体采访时表示“600亿贷款的传言子虚乌有”。他还透露，初步统计温州有21家银行在此次中小企业资金链断裂中受到牵连，但温州银行业流入民间借贷市场的资金最多不过区区数十亿元，温州银行业的不良贷款率不可能出现明显上升的趋势。
6、俄总理普京访华
俄总理普京今日开始访华，将会晤胡锦涛温家宝等党和国家领导人，两国可能签署约55亿美元合作协议；这是普京宣布参选俄总统之后首次对外访问。
据中国外交部介绍，普京于10月11日至12日对中国进行正式访问，并与温家宝总理举行中俄总理第十六次定期会晤。
普京访华期间，除总理定期会晤外，胡锦涛等中国领导人还将同普京举行会见，两国领导人将就双边关系和共同关心的国际及地区问题深入交换意见。
7、季莫申科越权案今日判决 欧盟批评不公正审判
乌克兰前总理季莫申科将于11日在基辅佩切尔斯基区接受法院宣判，如罪名成立其或被判处7年监禁。10日，欧盟批评乌克兰当局在审理季莫申科越权案时处于不公正立场。
欧盟外长发言人克希詹基科说，欧盟已经多次强调反对对季莫申科的不公开审理，欧盟对审判结果深表忧虑。但她未表示欧盟会对季莫申科的不公正审判结果采取行动。
但乌克兰总统亚努科维奇表示，不论是该国前总理季莫申科案件本身，还是其审判结果，他都毫无兴趣。
乌克兰检方指控前总理在2009年与俄罗斯签订天然气进口合同时滥用职权，案件已于今年6月24日开庭审理。季莫申科于8月5日被拘押。季莫申科目前是乌反对党“祖国党”领袖。
