Beijing Storm Press Conference: Death Toll Lifted to 77

On July 26, the Beijing Flood Control Headquarters held a press conference to announce that the number of people killed as a result of the storm on July 21 had been raised to 77. Of that number, 66 had already been identified.

During the press conference, the Beijing Flood Control Headquarters released a map displaying where the bodies of 61 of the civilian victims had been discovered. (CFP)

The Beijing Flood Control Headquarters also released a list of names of the 61 civilian victims who have been identified so far. This list does not include the 5 emergency service personnel who sacrificed their lives in the course of duty. (CFP)
