The Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China's largest oil and gas producer and supplier, is currently under investigation by the Communist Party's Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC), according to a brief Xinhua News Agency report posted at 11am this morning.

Mr. Wang Yongchun (王永春), who is also General Manager of the Daqing Oilfield Company, is suspected of "serious violations of discipline" according to what a Xinhua reporter has learned from the CDIC.
