Lead Poisoning Sickens 45 Children in Hunan

As of March 22, 45 children have been sickened by lead poisoning in Chenzhou, a city in central China's Hunan Province. The poisoning is reported to have been caused by pollution from a local factory. The Ministry of Environmental Protection has dispatched officials to Chenzhou to supervise and inspect pollution controls in the area. Four local officials, including the head of the town government, have been removed from their positions.
