New Regulations to Reduce Restrictions on Small Private Businesses

The State Council formally issued "Regulations on Individual Industrial and Commercial Households" yesterday. As of Nov 1, 2011, the new rules will replace the current regulations that have applied for 24 years.Many of the restrictions placed on China's 34 million self-employed households, including limits on the number of employees they can hire and the sectors they are permitted to operate in, will either be removed or loosened.
