CNOOC Apologizes for Oil Spill

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), together with its partner ConocoPhillips, held two press conferences on the recent oil spill in the Bohai Sea, apologising to the public for the spill's impact.

CNOOC said time is needed for the investigation, and that the information released so far is only preliminary. It added that related compensation should be based on the final results of that investigation and the contract with its partner ConocoPhillips.
