Seventy-three officials were punished for violatiions of China's Land Management Law and various related regulations, such as illegally occupying arable land in order to construct buildings, according to a notice released by China’s Ministry of Land and Resources yesterday.
The move to more strictly enforce Land Management Law is being led by China’s Ministry of Supervision and the Ministry of Land and Resources. The two ministries asked related departments at all levels of governments, particularly governments found to have violated regulation in this first round of investigations, to fulfill their responsibilities and obey land use laws.
