Three Financial Institutions Awarded QFII Status in June

In June, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) awarded three foreign financial institutions the status of Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFII), according to the China QFII Member List (June 2011). The three new QFII members are Cathay Securities Investment Trust Co., Ltd., Fuh Hwa Securities Investment Trust Co., Ltd. and Comgest S.A. As of the end of this June, there were 113 QFII operating in China. QFII refers to an overseas financial institution that
invests in China’s securities market with the approval of the CSRC through a quota granted by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).
