Chinese Broadband: 1/3 the Speed for 3 Times the Price

According to the 2011 edition of the Blue Book of Informatization - Analysis and Forecast on China's Informatization《2010年信息化蓝皮书》which has just been published by the Social Science Academic Press, China's broadband operates at one third the speed of the international average and costs three times more than in developed countries. According to the report, the current average international broadband speed is 5.6Mbps, while China ranks 71st in international rankings with an average speed of 1.8 Mbps. The report was jointly released by Advisory Committee for State Information, Advisory Committee for Beijing information and Social Sciences Academic Press.
