Bank Lending Thought To Have Extended Fall In August

The volume of yuan-denominated loans issued by banks in July slumped to 492.6 billion yuan, down 7.6% from last year, and 22% lower than in June, with industry sources predicting an August figure of around 490 billion yuan.

That view isn't universal - Sealand Securities is predicting that bank lending last month was around August 2010's level of 600 billion yuan.
