Donations to Chinese Charities Almost Half In July Due to Scandals
According to data released by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, people around China donated just over 1 billion yuan to official charities in June. However, after the "Guo Meimei" incident that began unfolding in late June, the amount of social donations dropped to only 500 million yuan in July.
