Smokers, Online Sales and Cars in Shanghai

The proportion of people in the Shanghai who smoke. Two years after Shanghai's ban on smoking in public buildings took effect, the city's smoking rate has been reduced to 18.6%, down from 37.6% in 2010, according to Local authorities say the ban will soon be expanded to include internet cafes, recreation centers and restaurants.

China's e-commerce continues its rapid expansion as online sales turnover in 2011 reached 780 billion yuan (124 billion U.S. dollars), a year-on-year increase of 66 percent, according to a report released Thursday.
