Ministry of Railways Orders Temporary Halt to Production of High-speed Train

Due to a series of technical problems that have caused delays along the newly-opened Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail link, the Ministry of Railway has ordered one of the main suppliers of trains for the line, Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. (长春轨道客车股份有限公司), a subsidiary of China CNR Corp. Ltd (601299.SH) to temporarily halt production of one model. Changchun Railway Vehicles announced last night that they had received a notice from the Ministry of Railways ordering them to temporarily halt the production of their CRH380BL train. The company is currently working on delivery of 17 of the CRH380BL trains and produced 24 of the 96 trains currently operating on the Beijing-Shanghai line.
