54 High-speed Trains Recalled Due to Safety Concerns
China CNR Corp (中国北方机车车辆工业集团公司), one of the largest suppliers of high-speed trains in China, announced that it's recalling 54 high-speed trains for safety reasons. The company made the announcement in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Friday morning, saying that the model CRH380BL trains would be analysed for safety problems and repaired. The recall comes only days after CNR revealed that a subsidiary, the Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., had been ordered by the Ministry of Railways to pause deliveries of the CRH380BL after problems with the trains' automatic safety systems led to delays on the new Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail link.
