Woman Dies After Setting Herself on Fire While Protesting Destruction of Home

A woman named Tang Fuzhen died on Nov 29 of injuries she sustained after setting herself on fire in Chengdu 16 days before her death. Tang was protesting the local government's attempt to demolish her house. Some of her close relatives were also injured and have been hospitalized, others are being detained by local police. The local government has defined the incident as "violent resistance against the law".
