Another five individuals were sentenced to death by the local intermediate peoples court yesterday for murder and other crimes committed during the violent unrest that took place in Urumuqi on July 5 this year. Another two individuals received life sentences. China last month executed nine people who were convicted for their roles in the violence that left nearly 200 people dead and 1,600 injured.
