During the on-going political meetings in Beijing, the news that the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) has allocated laptops to its delegates free of charge, and unlike last year, won't take them back after the meeting, has sparked off widespread on-line discussion. Zhang Zhenshan, director of Information center under the CPPCC's General Office, said the move was made in order that members could serve the nation "round the clock".
