Two of China's most recognizable online identities, Kai-Fu Lee (李开复), former head of Google China, and Fang Zhouzi (方舟子) - real name Fang Shimin - who is often referred to as the country's "Science Cop" for his role in unmasking the fake credentials or other irregularities with the resumes or research of many high-profile Chinese academics and business men, have been having a stoush on Sina Weibo over recent days. 

Fang started off the exchange by accusing Lee of falsely "upgrading" his post PhD qualifications and claiming that he had worked as a assistant professor while in the U.S..

Unike many others who have been on the receiving end of the science cop's ire, Lee decided to return fire, publishing a series of "tweets" of his own Sina Weibo account on Nov 22 - forcefully denying the accusations and explaining that the confusion has arisen due to difficulties in translating titles between the different Chinese and American academic systems. 

Lee emphasised that he would not reply again to the accusations again and appeared to win the support of many other 
online users.
