GDB: Healing the Giant(2)
In order to smoothly implement the plan the bank will spend the first hundred days to find and eliminate bottlenecks, settle on a new management structure, and implement internal and external communications projects. At the same time it will establish a special task force to complete the 2007 bussiness plan and and the five-year restructuring plan.
Li Hongrong has told the 12,000 employees that in order to grow strong, GDB needs to hire more and has no plans to layoff workers. Instead, there will be training programs and promotions.
The Economic Observer has learned that changes at the vice-presidential level have already been fixed; vice-president Zhen Lianming will be architect of the plan and vice-president Wang Xin will be the chief coordinator. Other senior-management assignments are not clear, and Citigroup will be sending experts to help with the process.
