China's New Loans Hit 516.7 Billion Yuan in September
China's new yuan-denominated lending reached 516.7 billion yuan (about 75.68 billion US dollars) in September, China's central bank said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon.
The figure pushed up total new lending for the first nine months of the year to 8.67 trillion yuan (1.27 trillion US dollars), 5.19 trillion yuan (760.2 billion US dollars) more than in the same period last year and 3.67 trillion yuan (537.5 billion US dollars) above the government's full-year target.
New loans in September were up on the 410.4 billion yuan (60.1 billion US dollars) of new loans extended in August and the 355.9 billion yuan (52.06 billion US dollars) figure for July, but the amount is still a long way off from the highs of more than 1.5 trillion yuan (220 billion US dollars) in new loans that were issued inJanuary, March and June.
