During an appeal to an earlier court ruling in which he was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for falsifying evidence and other charges, Beijing lawyer Li Zhuang surprised many on lookers by admitting his guilt but refusing to drop his appeal. Li made repeated admissions of his guilt during the two-day open hearing held in Chongqing on February 2nd and 3rd, 2010 emphasising that this was not the first time that he had made admissions of guilt.
