Xu Wei, former director of the office in charge of construction of the new CCTV headquarters, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term for "causing an accident with dangerous articles" by Beijing's No. 2 Intermediate People's Court yesterday. The other 19 defendants received prison sentences ranging from three to six years.
