At 6am on Tuesday, July 28, taxi drivers in the city of Wenzhou in the province of Zhejiang went on strike. It's estimated that two thirds of the taxi drivers from the eastern city refused to take to the streets and there were also reports that some cabs were damaged. Reports quote drivers as saying that they are unable to make a living by driving cabs. The strike echoes similar action taken by drivers in Hainan's Sanya and Chongqing. last November.
