Private Artist Blamed for Vulgar Content

Illegal buildings outside the villa of Guo Degang, a well-known Chinese private artist whose students have been blamed for physically attacking and offending several reporters from Beijing TV, were demolished yesterday. The conflict between Guo Degang and BTV reporters has sparked a debate on whether Chinese society should offer more freedom for private artists; Guo Degang has been branded as an artist who is providing vulgar content for his audience.
