The heavy traffic on the expressway connecting Beijing and Tibet that has lasted for ten days is due to an influx of coal trucks from Inner Mongolia. They are choosing this expressway rather than others to avoid being punished and charged by coal-check point stations along the other highways connecting Beijing and Inner Mongolia.
