Chinese Provinces Restrict Power Supply to Steel Mills

To reach their annual carbon-emission reduction targets, many provinces, including Hebei, Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang have capped power supply to local steel mills. In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, steel companies that do not meet current energy standards now have limited access to regional power supply, and those that do are required to stop work on certain production lines.
