Taiwan opens Universities to Mainland Students, but with Restrictions

The Taiwanese legislature approved a bill allowing 2,000 students from mainland China to attend University in Taiwan every year. The bill also requires that local Universities recognize diplomas from mainland schools. Despite these changes, Taiwanese law still prohibits mainland students from entering certain “confidential institutions” and obtaining full or part-time jobs in Taiwan.
