Price of Electricity for Non-residential Use Up 2.8 Fen
The price of electricity for non-residential use was raised by an average 2.8 fen per kilowatt-hour across the country today. This is the first time that China has raised power prices more than once in a single year. The National Development and Reform Commission also revealed plans to increase the price of electricity for residential use if consumers exceed a certain quota.

CCTV Auctions Off Ad Slots for 2010
China Central Television, the country's state broadcaster, yesterday held its annual auction of advertising slots for 2010. Advertisement contracts worth 10.9 billion yuan were signed, 1.71 billion yuan more than last year. In a sign that China's dairy indusrty is recovering after last year's melamine scandal, Mengniu Dairy spent over 200 million yuan at the auction.
