The Ministry of Environmental Protection has released Guidelines for Listed Companies to Publicize Environmental Information requiring listed companies to publish temporary reports on sudden environment-related accidents on the day they occur. It also requires listed companies in 16 heavily-polluted sectors, including thermal power generation, steel, cement and electrolytic aluminum, to issue annual environmental reports.
