China Audits Investments in Water Pollution Control
China's National Audit Office Wednesday released a audit report on money allocated to controlling water pollution in three major rivers (the Liao, Hai and Huai) and three major lakes (the Dian, Tai and Chao) within the country. The report said 515 million yuan was found to have been both misappropriated and the subject of exaggerate expense claims.

The salaries of workers employed in private enterprises will be included in the calculation of official income statistics for the first time, officials with the National Bureau of Statistics revealed in a media briefing held yesterday. In the past, only the average income of civil servants and employees of state-owned enterprises were used to calculate the official average income figures.

Price of Land Up in Third Quarter
The price of land in 35 cities across China monitored by the Ministry of Land and Resources rose by 0.36% in the third quarter on a year-on-year basis, reaching 3,345 yuan/sqm, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Land and Resources. The increase marked an end to the decline in prices registered over the past two quarters.
